"A phenomenal film. Captivating throughout, especially with the way it uses the vampire movie tropes as an allegory for the Black experience in America. Phenomenal production values, sound design and especially cinematography. This is accompanied by phenomenal performances across the board (from Michael B Jordan (as twins) to Hailee Steinfeld, from Delroy Lindo to Miles Caton among others). This is a film that deserves to be widely seen among audiences especially in the theatres, and I hope this film is remembered long enough for awards consideration. Very highly recommended."

"Sinners is easily my favorite 2025 release so far. Everyone is at the top of their game in this, but I couldn't take my eyes off of the performances of Michael B. Jordan, Wunmi Mosaku, and Jack O'Connell. Miles Caton has an amazing voice - and the conjuring spirits sequence really surprised me and it's absolutely perfect. I think I'll have to get myself a copy of the soundtrack. This has definitely made my list of all time favorite vampire movies. "
"Go see it this weekend before you hear any spoilers! ☆☆☆☆☆
The horror film SINNERS, starring Michael B. Jordan, Wunmi Mosaku, Jack O'Connell & Hailey Steinfeld set in 1930's, is best described in the words of director Ryan Coogler, as he compares the pace of the film like the Metallica song "One" : "It starts off with almost like an easy-listening solo, ... And then it just goes bats*** insane, in a way you could have never seen coming and at the same time, it felt like it was going there all along,."
My fave part, an astoundingly surreal montage within stirred my excitement as I felt a birds eye view of the truly beautiful ancestral, cultural, music & dance art that formed unbreakable bonds... coming thru the ages to form a culturally rich community.
MBJ delivers a phenomenal performance that feels like a look behind the magic curtain into the soul of the character(s) he dissappear into!
☆ STAY SEATED thru the TWO credit ending scenes! Many patrons in my theater left when they thought it was over, but it certainly wasn't!
After the viewing, read the extensive trivia on IMDb.com. the depth of detail makes me want to see it a 2nd (& a 3rd) time!"
"Great reenactment of TRUE vampire lore. I loved the powerful performance of englands Jack Oconnel as Remmick. While i liked the juke(to make a false move to decieve) joint music , the standout was the irish folk songs sung by the vampires, lol. Reminded me of Cold Mountain movie. Ryan stated that his inspiration was Dust Till Dawn. I saw no real comparison, imo Dust stands alone. The melting pot element here is fiction, no chinese, whts, or any other races were ever that chummy in the siuth in 1930s. The migration of REAL Upyr from El Magheb in Sahara actually toke place in 1700s lead by St. Jauqes Germain(the real Lestat). They settled in New Orleans & witchcraft, voodoo & vampires toke hold there, true story. I loved the ending, very strong message. 4/5"
"It is a refreshing film that blends film noir, horror, and westerns beautifully. I really enjoyed the super wide aspect ratio and think that every movie should have this aspect ratio. I also loved how music was used as a storytelling device. While the entire cast was amazing, the real standout is Ryan Coogler. The cinematography was too clean. This is easily his most ambitious and creative feature to date. In a world full of giant IP adaptations and remakes, we need more films like Sinners and filmmakers like Ryan Coogler."
