ernie_truman shared a tip "Watching part one of The Godfather I realized that everything essential to know about Vito and Michael Corleone is in that movie. This is more of an elaboration of their stories shown side-by-side. In the present time we follow Michael as he falls deeper into the corruption of his soul through the family business. In flashbacks we follow the rise of his father Vito from boyhood to manhood and establishing that very business. This movie is great in its own right and has some classic scenes but as a story of Michael and Vito it acts more as a supplement to the first in exploring the tragedy of Michael and giving more backstory. I was immersed from beginning to end. The scope is huge but it works better if you have seen the first while the first works perfectly with or without the other two. Still a 4/4 or 5/5 or 10 or whatever great rating you want to give it."

Cameron_12801 shared a tip "Great follow up sequel to the masterpiece that is “The Godfather”. The story really shows the decent into crime for Michael Corleone, and nice flashback sequences to the upbringing of Vito Corleone. Great film and I highly recommend."
