"There’s no reason this shouldn’t have been 60min shorter. That said, great storytelling, outstanding acting, and beautiful cinematography. The greed and disregard for human life is enraging! "

"Great storytelling ▪️The film was great, but honestly, it’s one you could wait to see on the small screen, imo (Really no need to see it on a big screen). First of all, this is a long movie (nearly 3.5 hours long), but it was never slow or boring, and #Scorsese did a wonderful job turning David Grann’s #historical account into a tight movie script. Secondly, the production design & the overall aesthetic of this story, which was set in the #1920s, was fantastic, and of course all of the acting was terrific. I personally loved the background score 🎶 — particularly Blind Willie Johnson’s ominous & bluesy guitar music which was popular during that era). Finally, I thought the way Scorsese chose to wrap up the story was a little strange AT FIRST—until I listened to what was said about Mollie; then I thought the ending was actually unique & creative, and a sort of tribute to her & her family & the Osage nation. It’s incredibly sad, though, that these killings, at first, weren’t even investigated, & even more outrageous that the killers were eventually pardoned (that’s what I read in the book). I thought the closing scene, with the Osage dance (drumming?) ceremony was both a stark & lovely contrast to all the greed & the wreckage wrought by the evil mastermind, William K. Hale, his nephews, and their accomplices. "

"I'm sure that my opinion on this film will be an unpopular one. I DID NOT LIKE IT. It was waaaaay too long. This story could have been told in half the time which would have served the film better to the audience. Scorsese is a master film maker, but not every project needs to be a huge opus. The acting was all top notch, and the production value was what would be expected by a director of this caliber, but I really think Scorsese has a problem editing his work sometimes to keep a good flow, to this movie in particular. The last 45 minutes or so of the movie was when things finally picked up for me. I was greatly disappointed, as I had higher expectations from one of my favorite directors. 6/10"

"About 30 minutes in I googled if it was based on a true story. An hour in I realized he was a bad guy instead of the savior. I couldn’t bring myself to keep watching the continuous, horrific abuse. Especially with little hope of a positive anything for the next two and a half hours. So I turned it off. I understand this gets my true movie fan membership revoked. "

"The acting and actors in this film were immaculate and the cinematography and costumes and sets were phenomenal. I was just so triggered about how these poor souls were treated. I’m glad this story was told and was told with so much grace. "

A disturbing story about white men marrying rich oil wealthy Native American women , killing and stealing from them. Lily Gladstone was certainly the heart of this film but Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert deniro gave their usual strong acting performances."

"Not as focussed as the book is on the FBI origin story. This movie focuses on the murders and particularly Ernest and Mollie’s story and reveals how weak Ernest is. Excellent portrayals with some fictional fills to complete the story. Well told and compelling."

Seamlessly blends that classic Scorsese crime drama with a harrowing romance to create something bold and profoundly tragic.  There isn’t a single wasted minute, every frame has purpose. Avarice, violence, betrayal— it’s all here and portrayed with a deep respect for the Osage people. At times it feels I’m watching career bests from everyone on the screen, but undoubtedly Gladstone is who shines the brightest, chewing the scenery of every frame. "

"The acting was impeccable. Truly Leonardo is gifted. Wow. I was really looking forward to seeing this movie. A few misses: very long, could have easily been shortened. I was looking to learn a bit more about indigenous culture and beliefs right in the movie specific to beliefs. While I always read and research, I was hoping to see more opportunities right within the movie to educate people where certain events took place, clothes, colours, animal references, rituals, beliefs and my oh my the connection they have to nature is so beautiful and serene and calming. 🙏 "
