Vic and Blood eke out a meager existence, foraging for food and fighting gangs of cutthroats.

"We're one year away from A Boy and His Dog's set year. I loved this movie, really captures the apocalypse as well as how desperate for food, money, basic needs, and reproductive males a group of women would be. There's SA but the protagonist seems to compartmentalize it better because he's already had far worse in life. All that matters is his dog."

"I watched this in high school and liked it then but I feel it necessary to mention the way sexual assault is handled in this movie is not great and could make it actively hostile to anyone whose sensitive to the topic. This movie gets seriously dark in a very chilling way at times and it does so casually which I both think is interesting and have a hard time recommending."
