Cynthia is electric ⚡ on screen, giving a commanding performance the entire film. Leslie Odom Jr. is a great supporting actor as always. Janelle Monae was a nice surprise as well."

"I've long been a fan of Harriet Tubman, so when her own movie came out, I was ecstatic. I had to see it! I even managed to get my hands on the original movie poster. Then I finally watched it. My gosh was it good. It showed her story in full and wasn't afraid to tell every part of it. I was terrified in this day and age they would hide or shun her religious side. Every single person who met her would take about her faith and love for God. So I was beyond happy to see it play an actual role here. And they knocked it out of the park. Not only was the cinematography breathtaking and motivating, it also just was great plot motivator. Then the characters, they were deep and clearly rooted in truth. Each one was beyond incredible. The actors and actresses went above and beyond for this outstanding movie. But no movie is without faults. The only thing is this one's fault lies in the horrible decision to remove a scene they kept in the bonus features in deleted scenes. It's the committee meeting. Its when she gets her name added as an offical conductor of the railroad. That scene was extended to something so much better. She meets Frederick Douglass, and others as well. But thee thing that truly pushes it to a great scene status is the incredible conversation with another conductor. He does a kind of backhanded compliment to her bringing back 9 on her first trip. He tries showing off by telling her how many he brought back on his first trip. But mentions he lost 2. Instead of being impressed by 18 he saved she asked about the 2 and showed her own mental state by saying she'd want to remember the 2. She hoped to never lose any. It was a great response and showed her in such a great light. So the fact they removed it made it a fault on the movie. In fact, I will stop the movie just to watch that scene where it would be then start the movie again. I highly recommend doing that. I also greatly recommend it for everyone. It's just phenomenal."
