"🌟8/10🌟 VERY entertaining movie about the rise of the Nike brand whose competition at the time was Adidas & Converse. The plot follows as these 3 companies are looking at the latest NBA draftees to sign — Things really start to heat up when they all hone in on MJ who we all know will go on to become the 🐐🏀🔥#23 ▪️Lots of fun #80s nostalgia, music & flashbacks since the story took place in #1984. ▪️The casting was perfect — solid performances most notably from Matt Damon & Viola Davis as Jordan’s smart & “solid as a rock” momma. Also loved Chris Tucker & Jason Bateman 👍🏾 I was super excited to get to see Jay Mohr, but I swear the guy only had one line & about 3 seconds of screen time 🤷‍♀️🤔"

"A film drama based on events that took place as the basketball department of Nike was striving to find their next three basketball players to wear the Nike brand shoes. While others looked to three basketball players, another associate had a feeling to sign one up and coming basketball player. Worth watching as the creation of a line of shoes around the person, began changes in the basketball league and merchandise."

This film has such heart and humor plus some great acting and a totally rad 80s vibe and soundtrack. "I didn't think that I would be interested in the story of how Nike made a deal with Michael Jordan for a basketball shoe contract, especially when EVERYONE knows the outcome. But I must say I was engaged the entire time, mostly due to great writing and superb acting by a stellar cast. It doesn't hurt that there's also a great soundtrack of hits from the early 80's that totally sets the tone for the time period. Pretty cool. 7.5/10"

"We all really enjoyed this movie. Not earth shattering but enjoyable from start to finish. A nice story and great acting from favorites like Damon, Bateman, and Affleck who directed it. For those of you who don’t think this is for you, it’s worth mentioning that you don’t need to care about MJ, basketball, or even sports to enjoy this movie. "

"This was a good watch. Nothing spectacular, beside some great acting. Crazy how they can make the viewer feel the thrill and suspense even though most basketball fans already know how the story turned out. Directed by Affleck and produced by him and his buddy Damon, they lead a great cast, especially the goat, Viola Davis. "
