I simultaneously love and hate this book, but the hate is for the characters that are homophobic and toxic. So with that being said, this book is phenomenal. I wish I had had a book like this when I was a teen, trying to figure out my sexuality and worried about what others would think of me. This story so lovely lays out the story of Ruby, the pageant queen, and Morgan the track star. One out, one very closeted. A true masterpiece that’ll bring you to tears multiple times!

I really enjoy Lapena’s books. She excels at knowing how to keep you desperate to find out what happens next. A Stranger in the House had so many twists, with the ending being the biggest of all.

I loved this book because I live for drama and these characters gave us plenty of it! This read was like a reality tv show, so of course I could barely put this book down!

Through the first chapter, this book seemed to be one that would fall flat. Luckily for me, I make a vow to read 5 chapters before giving up on a book. In chapter 2 or 3, things start picking up and the twists and turns in this book really threw me for a loop! I was on the edge of my seat dying to know what was going to happen next. A really good read!

I can’t even say how many times I gasped during this book because what a wild ride it was, in all the best ways. It’s such a great whodunnit read and I enjoyed every second of it!

As a part of the LGBTQ+ community, this book is so sweet. Adler captures the absolute craziness that goes on in your brain when you had no idea your sexual preferences deviate from the societal norm. I devoured this book in a day and am still thinking about it weeks later. A great coming of age/coming out book
