This is written with a unique perspective. Throughout most of the book I found myself saying I didn’t really like it, but then I couldn’t put it down because I wanted the mystery solved. Upon concluding the book I found I don’t “miss” the characters, and while I did not connect with the characters, I was fully drawn into the storyline and engaged. This book is so unique that I would definitely recommend it.

This historical fiction is about the packhorse librarians in Kentucky in the late 1930s. The grit, fragility, harshness and tenderness of these women will amaze you and endure you to them. I closed the book sad to be saying goodbye to ‘friends’ and new found heroines!

I book about book ppl! What’s not to like! Well developed characters, some moral to the characters, some surprise twists woven into an engaging story. I really enjoyed this book!

It was good. Not great, good. This sequel continued on with the characters from the first book and added some new ones. The characters are creative and well developed but to story could have been written with abt 100 less pages. Some of the hint and chase scenes get a bit detailed and I found myself skimming through. That said, I didn’t want to put it down!
