Bio

I adore historical fiction movies, books, and true crime podcasts. My favourite movie genres are fantasy, sci-fi, adventure, and classic. I am a great fan of Bollywood movies and other Asian cinema. It is also fun to immerse myself in a mystery movie, animation, or an adventure set in ancient times. I absolutely love a great Spanish or Portuguese Language drama series. I love to watch historical documentaries and biographies.

Legend

This film is a fun remake of His Girl Friday. Instead of Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell, and Ralph Bellamy, the lead actors are Kathleen Turner, Christopher Reeve, and Burt Reynolds. I really liked seeing Reeve play a comedic role.

Just a fair version of the TV series. Herman, Grandpa, and the Werewolf were the best portrayed characters. It was fun seeing Easter eggs of the series during the entire movie. The bright colors used in the film gave the experience a different mood. The distribution company wouldn't let Rob Zombie use black and white for production, so he went for broke with the use of color!😂

Josephine Baker plays a young African woman who is taken to polite society as a ruse to make a rich aristocrat's estranged wife jealous. He also bases a novel on her life coming to live as his charge in "polite society." I loved watching Josephine Baker's electric and passionate dance routine. Her singing voice is simply incomparable. Warning: ⚠ Two male characters are seen in Black Face and Brown Face. French audio.

Boris Karloff could do it all: scare as Frankenstein, and be imposing as The Mummy Imhotep. The former priest tries to reclaim the power that he felt was his, and the woman who was his match. Imhotep tries to hypnotize a socialite with memories of ancient Egypt into being his former love. I enjoyed the story seeing the story unfold, starting at an old museum, and invading the lives of social climbers. Unfortunately, there are two brief scenes with an actor in black face and body paint. This was a case of ignorant times. I loved the movie, which kicked off unending sequels and remakes by Hollywood. My favorite is that of Brendan Fraser's The Mummy.

This is an excellent portrayal of what may have been the life of Mozart's sister Nannerl. I just learned about her. She was a real person, and history believes that she was more talented than Wolfgang Amadeus. Of course, in those days women could not pursue their dreams of art and music as men could; as careers. The young actresses in this movie show well the frustration, loneliness, and sadness of being forced to lock away their hopes and their genius. French audio.

Josephine Baker is a delight to see in this French talkie in which she falls in love with her childhood friend, and helps him out when he is falsely accused of murder. I enjoyed the musical performances in the last half an hour of the movie. Warning: ⚠ One brief scene of nudity. French audio.
