This book was an assigned in the middle grade years but I absolutely loved and still do. I also cried. This book made me cry. That takes a lot.

The twist at the end had me in shock but made me love this story even more. I won’t spoil anything. Go and read for yourself I highly recommend.

Isolation and survival horror at its best! I honestly felt terrified of Annie and feared for Paul’s life. Even though I had seen the movie first I prefer the book wholeheartedly. Highly recommended.

I loved this! I couldn’t put it down. Marilyn is basically the type of best friend we all want & need. I really enjoyed her parts along with just the whole story overall. I honestly don’t prefer this over her first novel, Behind Her Eyes, that one is my absolute favorite book of 2021 (it was my April BOTM from Book of The Month 🤷🏻‍♀️) BUT never the less I love Sarah Pinborough’s writing. 💕

I honestly tolerated this book more than anything. The only thing that made me even like it was the whole setting and atmospheric pressure of feeling/thinking of their being a slashing on a camp. In other words it gave me Friday the 13th vibes but pt. 1, Mrs. Voorhees not Jason. And I was engaged for a while. But the last third of the book made me want to DNF but I am glad I didn’t. I gave this a good 3.5/5 and although this wasn’t my favorite read of Sager’s his other works are pretty good.

I read this late December 2020 and without a doubt this was a perfect Christmas read. I really felt this was the love child of The Exorcist and Heathers. If you haven’t seen the movie Heathers, go check it out on Shudder you won’t be disappointed. And honestly to think of this as a combo of the two isn’t a bad thing, if anything it’s a REALLY GOOD thing! I found this to be the perfect way to end 2020, I gave it a 4.5/5 though due to the ending. Read it to see what I mean.
