This book was way too sad. A good read and lovable characters, but sad.

A beautiful, poetically written tale of hard lessons and love. The words are written in the most gentle, elegant style I've ever had the pleasure of reading. It really is gorgeous and characters are alive with emotions that are painful and real and true. The entire story twinkles with the magic and wonder of youth, and how fragile we truly are.
The Glittering Hour

This book picked up really well after the snoozefest of the first few chapters, which had initially put me off for a few weeks. Despite having started during the New Year (the same time it starts in the book as well), I was happy that I picked this back up at the end of January! After the halfway mark, I finished it within a couple of days and have borrowed the second in the series to pick up where it left off. Drama, multiple viewpoint chapters, the tropics, and an interesting tale of mystery!

Incredibly good prequel to the Hunger Games. Haunting and filled with lessons that remind us that our ideas we spout into the world do not exist in a vacuum, but for others to use, cultivate, and build upon. Selfishness, desires, and paranoia shape the priviledged society of the Capitol and as a result, the rest of the country of Panam. #hungergames
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (A Hunger Games Novel)

Really loved this book, and personally wish Hilderbrand would write more historical fiction because of it! From the moon landing, to the beaches of Nantucket, several characters of all ages pull everyone's elses story along in this family drama you want to be a part of.
