The story of Edward Tulane is one that has stuck with me since 5th grade. It is a book that teaches sympathy towards other people's struggles. The theme of having a fully inanimate protagonist is really interesting. Just like the reader, Edward is helpless to his own fate, only sitting idly by through his experiences, whether he likes it or not.

I love that the author depicts quite mundane cat activities so hauntingly.
