"I followed this story when it broke and the whole thing was heartbreaking. So much of it is reminiscent of the Doomsday Cult mom and it makes me so scared that these kids could have ended up the same as the others. Lucky to be alive but a lot of trauma that they’ll need to live with now. "
"Waste of time. If you’re on social media you’ve already seen most of what was put in this doc. Literally just watched not ep 1 & 3 (last). It’s horrible what happened to those kids. Ruby Franke basically was brainwashed by psycho LDS member, Jody Hildebrandt to believe her kids were demons. Ruby is crazy and I hope they both rot in prison. "
"I’m just a month younger than Chad (the eldest son). I watched the channel when I was younger, and as I got older I realized how weird ruby truly was. I followed along with it until finally she was arrested. This story is so heartbreaking and I can’t even imagine the pain those children were in."
"This documentary tore me up worse than many of the docs I've watched. I was able to see the warning/red flags of the 'Connections' community, as soon as the people in the series shared their experiences with J. Hildebrandt. It made me feel sick, and then the obedience I witnessed with both the husband, and son Chad.... Ugh that hurt too.
So much ********! That they were so devoted, so believing, out of their lives for a year! He acted like she had a restraining order on him. I mean, he (husband) even disclosed her behavior when he was hugging his kids before leaving, and I think he missed a warning in his heart on that one.
It just broke my heart in the end, that she really was on her way to killing her own kids. Because of beliefs, dangerous beliefs created by a manipulative woman.
It's not advertised as a cult story, but it really is with how this family became brainwashed and manipulated by 1 person, who they treated like a god pretty much. Always dangerous territory. I can't even imagine how much damage those two youngest are trying to maneuver and heal from. So tragic. "
