With Majin Buu defeated half-a-year prior, peace returns to Earth, where Son Goku (now a radish farmer) and his friends now live peaceful lives. However, a new threat appears in the form of Beerus, the God of Destruction. Considered the most terrifying being in the entire universe, Beerus is eager to fight the legendary warrior seen in a prophecy foretold decades ago known as the Super Saiyan God. The series retells the events from the two Dragon Ball Z films, Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F' before proceeding to an original story about the exploration of alternate universes.

"Unfortunately I didn't get to finish the OG DB series, but I still loved this one. It's equal parts goofy and badassery, with great voice actors that have an impressive yelling potential.
Although the classic anime elements were a bit much at times. From the constant diabolical laughter to the mirrored fighting animation. But this was forgivable, especially when the non-serious moments were actually funny, such as the Universe 2's debut of Sailor Moon-like characters talking non-stop about love, and Master Roshi trying to overcome his weakness to attractive women for the tournament."
"Overall, it's a sizable downgrade from Dragons Ball Z in many ways, especially regarding the animation quality and characterization of majority of the main characters. Only reason that this is three stars is mostly because of the final saga of Dragon Ball Super. It's at least very entertaining."
"Just finished DB Super this morning. For the most part, I loved it. The tone and pace were a return to the original Dragon Ball's brightly colored action comedy, when fights took one or two episodes. The final arc, however, is 34 episodes of a protracted battle royale, in which the only memorable jokes are magical girl parodies. The final foe, himself, is the only enemy standing for the last five (5) whole episodes. Overall, though, I recommend it. "
"This show gets a lot of criticism but it honestly has a lot of great elements in it. The scope of the fights feel more grand and epic than Z and Ultra Instinct is one of the coolest new transformations. The way they hint at it is cool as well. Overall a really good continuation of Dragon ball "
