"I enjoyed this book with the same characters from his book: A Time to Kill."

"A long, slow, drawn out beginning ... a great courtroom battle ... an unsatisfying conclusion. I liked the plot line of this novel, but it could have been told in a much more succinct manner."

"If you want to read a book that you can't put down, I highly recommend this book. It grabs you from the first page and does not disappoint. "

"It was wonderful to get to again immerse myself into the world of Jake Brigance and the wonderful characters crafted by Grisham. I'd missed the narrative and exploration of race relations, small town South and the reality of dying communities in the Delta. While I was happy to reacquaint myself with the world of Clanton, I was disappointed by the lack of closure with the ending of this book. Great for the diehard Grisham fans like myself. Otherwise, I'd say skip."
