A truly wonderful book. I am a sucker for coming of age books, especially ones that include examinations of complicated family dynamics and this novel did not disappoint. Keane is a brilliant writer and I cannot recommend this book enough. Prepare yourself though because some of the material is quite heavy.

It was wonderful to get to again immerse myself into the world of Jake Brigance and the wonderful characters crafted by Grisham. I'd missed the narrative and exploration of race relations, small town South and the reality of dying communities in the Delta. While I was happy to reacquaint myself with the world of Clanton, I was disappointed by the lack of closure with the ending of this book. Great for the diehard Grisham fans like myself. Otherwise, I'd say skip.
