Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn't believe in fashion... she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit – the more sparkly, more wild – the better. And life is pretty close to perfect for Lola, especially with her hot rocker boyfriend. That is, until the Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighbourhood and unearth a past of hurt that Lola thought was long buried. So when talented inventor Cricket steps out from his twin sister's shadow and back into Lola's life, she must finally face up to a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door. Could the boy from Lola's past be the love of her future?

"I loved reading this! I love Stephanie Perkins writing and characters, and how passionate they are all about different things. The characters are charming and heart warming. I especially fell for Lola's family and of course Cricket.
I would read anything Perkins at this point. Having first read Anna&tfk, (These are best read in order to avoid spoilers: Anna, then Lola, then Isla) This book did not disappoint!!! At all!! Just as sweet and lovely as the first story. & it is still it's own story.
It's not a sequel, but Perkins creatively winds old characters into the lives of new characters. It's so cleverly done, it allows an epilogue to have more depth, while simultaneously telling another beautiful story. (Awe the feels!) We are always complaining about contemporary books ending to abruptly & this is just a genius way to give fans more, and more, and more! && we sure want it!
Reading Lola is like meeting some new best friends that just get you with a surprise visit from some old best friends!

"
"Wow. Absolutely amazing. Phenomenal. And now for the complete sentences. I was hooked from the start. I have to admit, I wasn't sure if this could be as good as Anna and the French Kiss, but it blew me out of the water. Lola was the most amazing character I have come across. She lives her life in costume, wearing wigs, clothes she makes, she's anything but conventional. And it makes the story. She marches to the beat of her own drum. And I applaud Stephanie Perkins for creating such a fantastic character.

I would also like to applaud Stephanie Perkins for is the parents. Lola has two dads. And neither of them are flamboyant or girly. She created such a strong, supportive family for Lola. I really loved the scenes with her fathers. Even more, I loved Lola's love of her fathers. Very charming and heartwarming. Really.

I'm going to admit, and it's probably the same consensus through most other readers, I didn't care for her hot rocker boyfriend. I didn't like the way he spoke about Lola's dads, the way he felt like he had to suffer them to be with Lola. Not a well respected guy in my book. Plus, I'm a sucker for the underdog. And Cricket had my full support. Plus, Cricket was all about Lola from the start. He wanted to know how she was, was concerned for her and would do anything for her. He was perfect.

Another thing I loved? Anna and St. Clair were in this book. A lot! I loved to see them after the whole 'I like you but don't know how you feel about me' part of Anna and the French Kiss. Not that I didn't love the first. I did, but I was so glad to see them after, see how devoted they are to each other and to get that glimpse of them so happy together. Stephanie Perkins, I'm very grateful to get a chance to see more of Anna and St. Clair!

This is a must read. This author is a must read. Stephanie Perkins has a talent for writing fantastic young adult romance and I hope to see many more from her. This is definitely going on my 'must reread' list along with the first book."
"I loved this book, I liked her other one better though, Anna and The French Kiss!"
