"OMG WHY ARE YOU SO LONG??? I'VE BEEN READING THIS DAMN BOOK FOR HALF A YEAR!!!!"

"4.4 stars.

Holy crap that epilogue. Somebody needs to tell me when that storyline will be continued because honestly, that would be very interesting.

Since I haven't given a feasible review for this series yet, I will do so now.

The characters in this series were awesome. I found myself connected with the Blackthorns and Emma. I've always loved strong sibling relationships but can't find many books that satisfy my needs for fluffy sibling interactions. This book almost made me cry over the relationships the Blackthorns had with each other. I'd have to say my favorite character falls between Cristina and Diana, but there was not a single character that I disliked. Even the characters I was supposed to hate (Zara, Dearborn, etc) I found myself appreciating their designs.

Next, the plot. In most of Cassandra Clare's books, I find myself being extremely bored with at least one plotline. That was not the case for this series. I was invested in everything between Emma and Julian's plotline to the weird thing about Kit's mother. I feel like that's very hard to do in a book. Also, the whole Julian selling his emotions to Magnus thing was awesome too. Like, if you're going to sell you're soul, sell it to Magnus Bane.

(i just realized I never mentioned the romance even though I had it written down in my notes. Good going Al, so next the romance)

Let's be honest. Most of us cringe at some of the romance that Cassandra Clare writes. Do not get me wrong. She is a very talented author but it gets a bit repetitive sometimes. I was very thrilled that she threw the love triangle out the window for this. I've heard that it gets brought back in Chain of Gold, but from what I've heard, Chain of Gold is a masterpiece.

The romance in this book was great. I was not bored by any of it. Whether it was Kieran, Mark, and Cristina or Julian and Emma, I had my head shoved into it. I need a whole separate book about Mark, Kieran, and Cristina tho. They are my babies and I shall shelter them forever. Emma and Julian angsting over each other was also great. For some reason it was much more bearable than Jace and Clary's whole 'I can't date my sibling thing' (thank god that was over by the end of the third book)

I don't know why exactly I'm not giving this five stars. I just don't feel it. But I would certainly recommend this series. Personally, I like it more than any of her other series (please don't sacrifice me to the gods) and will probably reread it (even though this is a reread) in the future.

*reread*

It’s still great. I can’t wait for the epilogue to be extended into a series"
