The sypnosis of this book sounded AMAZING and I was super excited to read it, but it did not live up to my expectations at all. :( First of all, the things included in the summary sounded like they were both alive and well (as well as they could be in that situation) had a bag of skittles, and there was an island in sight. That is not how it was. Max, was unconscious most of the time. The skittles were not discovered until several chapters after the crash and the island didn't show up until almost the end. Second, Robie is a very whiny teenager who is not very realistic at all. What kind of person isn't afraid to fly by herself and get a nose ring, but is afraid to stay in a safe place she's at all the time alone? Okay, okay so the guy attacked her but really?! Next is a pet peeve. Fragments are okay. Here and there. But not. Like this. Every stinking. Page. The author would have been better of writing a novel made up of narrative poetry, such as in 'Heartbeat' by Sharon Creech. Really. So here they are on the raft after the crash and like three days go by is what I understood from the descriptions of the sky, but then Robie says it's only been two days. This made me very confused and the entire book in general was pretty confusing. Maybe it. Was the fragments. That did that. I don't know. If I were on a raft with a stranger and he was unconscious and had a bag of personal things, the first time I realized he had it, I would have opened it to see if there was aanything useful. Not Robie though, she waits until she's starving. The fact that Max had really died and she was just imagining him, was confusing and very strange. So what did I like about the book, you ask? Not much. Probably just the idea of it and the reason for the crash actually making sense and being possible. I would not read it again or recommend it to someone unless they were looking for books about plane crashes but even then, there are other options. So sorry if you liked her, but I don't think I will read this author again. Maybe I will rewrite a book with the sypnosis as my guide though :)"

"This was the first book I ever read that made me want to read. I was 12 years old and in middle school. We had a very nice library. I was never a reader. But I think I picked this book up and read it because it was my choice. Nobody forced me to sit down and read this book, I just did, And it changed my life. This book was so good. It kept me on my toes and made me never want to put it down because I just needed to know what happened next. This book was the first ever book to sit there and make me cry. I recommend this book to anyone who’s said they don’t like reading. It will change your mind… it changed mine. "

"I really wish I could give this a better rating, as I did essentially finish it in about three hours. It really did have some potential. <br/><br/>However, SO many grammatical errors, awkward sentences, and sentence structure. VERY obvious “plot twist”. Also, why did the doctor wait for her to wake up to give her stitches? Also, a doctor would not tell someone it was a good thing jewelry got ripped out of their face. Also, don’t tell people to clean their piercings with rubbing alcohol."
