“A poignant, heart-tugging, life-affirming story that will wrap around you like a hug during any season. Keep tissues nearby!”—Josie Silver, #1 New York Times bestselling author of One Day in DecemberIt started with a letter. It ended with a love story.Every December, Josie posts a letter from her home in London to the parents she lost on Christmas night many years ago. Each year, she writes the same three words: Missing you, always. But this year, her annual trip to the postbox is knocked off course by a bicycle collision with a handsome stranger--a stranger who will change the course of Josie's life. Josie always thought she was the only one who avoided the Christmas season, but this year, Max has his own reasons for doing the same—and coincidence leads them to spending the holiday together. Aglow with new love, Josie thinks this might be the start of something special. Only for Max to disappear without saying goodbye. Over the course of the next year, Max and Josie will find that fate continues to bring them together in places they'd never expect. New York City. Edinburgh. The quiet English countryside. And it turns out, Max had every reason to leave and every reason to stay. But what does fate hold for Josie and Max as Christmas approaches again? A devastating, romantic, life-affirming love story, Always, in December will stay with readers long after they've finished the last page.

"This book is the devil. Ok glad I got that out of the way.

I mostly listen to audiobooks instead of reading during the holidays because it makes for easy multitasking. Heather Long preformed this narration and I found it very enjoyable.

The characters were well balanced with a rich history. This story, luckly, had forgone the cheesy dialog and hallmark romance. I make it my lifes work to search for non-hallmark, un-hallmarkery, let's just say lame Christmas stories during the last two months of the year. Sadly it's a full time job and I've only come across three. This being one of them.

There isn't much more to say without giving out spoilers. Just that it was different and unexpected. Not Christmas all the time but the main showdowns are. I enjoyed the characters though and did wish the romantic interests had more alone time together. It seemed they were always surrounded by friends or coworkers.

Also the ending had me blabbing to everyone. Good or bad things? BOTH!"
"I was excited to read a Christmas book- and this was not a Christmas book. So I guess I disappointed my self? I’m not the biggest fan of books that aren’t by the characters point of views so this was hard to read. I felt so bored constantly and it was such a drag to finish. I’m disappointed because so many people love this book and I don’t know what I’m missing, but it was not for me! 🙁"
"I wanted to read this around Christmas, but due to waiting on the audiobook, it was later. & that worked out well because although part of the book is during December it’s not what I would typically read during Christmas. The whole first half of the book I thought I’d rate it 3 stars, but then I got to the last 4th of the book and it made me tear up, so I had to rate it higher. I truly didn’t see the end coming. Overall a good book, although sometimes I struggle with audiobook accents because I like to set it at higher speeds."

"It was overall a decent book. I will say the first half was extremely slow and I wasn’t really engaged until the last 3rd of the book. There is romance but I feel like there wasn’t enough, a lot of back and forth drama. The ending was truly a shock to me which made the second half of the book a little better than the first half. The tone of the book overall was not as bright as I thought it would be considering it was supposed to be to be a Christmas book."
