"*WARNING THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS* I'm not an emotional mess, you're an emotional mess...😭😭😭😭😭😭. Like I said in one if my updates, B. Celeste really enjoys hurting her readers. I knew when I picked this book up, that it had made people cry and it was supposed to be sad, but I wasn't expecting this to be about Emery and her struggles with lupus. I think the only thing I didn't like about this is that Kaiden basically loved her from the first moment he saw her, and I was like okay that's a bit weird along with the fact that they're step-siblings but hey whatever lol. I understand her not telling him at first because he didn't ask or she didn't feel comfortable yet, but what if something had happened to her and he didn't know, you know? I felt like that was bad on her, her dad and his mom. I did like how much he cared for her, in his own ways of course. And I loved how they were able to connect over their loved ones who passed, it's hard to move forward without them by your side. Her mom is a very selfish person, especially when she made her dad not talk to them for 10 years, that hurts a child and it brings on this resentment, but I'm glad she was able to reconnect with her dad even if it was for a short amount of time. I still don't understand why her dad was "sooo" busy at work when Logan got sick, like what kind of father can't be there for his child when they're needed the most?. I was kind of mad at Emery for not saying anything when she knew something was wrong months before she died. When she was in the hospital and she felt that this was it, I started getting emotional and then my tears were coming when her dad started crying and then more came when her mom finally sang the song! And even more came when Kaiden's pov came after that😭😭. This book finally made me cry after months and months of not being emotional when reading a sad book lol. Heartbreaking read, highly recommend!"
