"3.75⭐ (So close to being 4 stars, but I just can't make myself rate it any higher)
So, I did end up enjoying this book, but it felt somewhat unnecessary. I loved Wes and Liz's story exactly how it was in Better Than the Movies, and this book felt like it took away from that somehow. The characters were lovable and I definitely enjoyed seeing more of them! The tone of this book was way different than what I'd expected. It was much heavier than any Lynn Painter book I've read before. There were definitely parts of it that I really enjoyed, and I certainly don't regret taking time to read it, but I feel like I could have done without this sequel. If you're a huge fan of Better Than the Movie then I would recommend proceeding with caution."
"Theres a special place in my heart for Wes and Liz. This sequel to “Better Than the Movies” had a less lighthearted feel than the first book. With Wes dealing with significant loss and Liz in the aftermath of heartbreak and betrayal, it felt heavier. It was a long road to get us back to our HEA, but there was no way we weren’t going to get there…Wes knows how to turn on the charm. Adorable romantic quotes continue to start each chapter, complete with the soundtrack of Wes and Liz version 2.0 The dual narration audiobook was perfection. Jesse Vilinsky is very charismatic. "
"by itself, this wasn’t the best book but as a sequel, it wasn’t bad… I enjoyed reading it but I wouldn’t say it’s necessary to read if you’ve read Better than the Movies. I personally think it’s better if you just read Better than the Movies and skip this sequel. spoilers but it’s really just a story about Liz and Wes losing contact with each other, then you learn why, and then they find themselves back together. 3.5/5 ⭐️"
"I really enjoyed reading this book! It wasn’t as comical and lighthearted as the first novel, but it was still romantic with a twist of sadness because of their circumstances. I really enjoyed the side characters and was sad we didn’t see much of them towards the end of the novel. However, I loved the movie quotes at beginning of each chapter and would definitely recommend this duology series.
