"I always get a kick out of it when Liam Neeson plays a North Irishman. He is along with an absolute murderers’ row cast of wonderful Irish actors who always make every thing they’re in better. The crime thriller plot is good enough and the beautiful Irish countryside setting is fun to look at. And ole Liam can still play the hero. "
"It’s the time of the Irish troubles and sinners are everywhere. How can you be a saint if you have not been a sinner? Explored a close knit society during a time of murder and mayhem. Liam Neeson shines as an itinerant assassin for hire reeking something like vengeance for pay and justice for free. "
"3.5 stars
The plot is good and, of course, LS as lead duh. But I found it à bit slow and lacked luster, I suppose due to it being set in 1974 ireland, and the tangent of historical context perhaps but still. Good and evil, and the grey zone, totally worth the watch. I recommend
Enjoy!

"I wanted to see what all the hype was about and bought the movie, as an article from FM104 stated that "Liam Neeson's new Netflix thriller dubbed ‘his best film since Taken’" article below:
https://www.fm104.ie/news/buzz/liam-neesons-new-netflix-thriller-dubbed-his-best-film-since-taken/
To me, I wouldn't have stated taken as this is my own thoughts, as I believe that it was his best since a 2011 movie titled The Grey which to me felt as real as it gets if being on the edge of your seat.
A close one to The Gray I would say one my favorites is named Cold Pursuit, a 2019 film which is actually a remake of a 2014 Norwegian movie titled "In Order of Disappearance" or also titled "Kraftidioten"
Please note that In the Land of Saints and Sinners is not based on a true story, and the timeframe of the movie is stated to be in 1974, the same timeframe when there was car bombings. I believe that is where they came up with the car bombing idea in the movie.
You can see an Ireland news article at the following on the bombings at the following:

There's a few movies of Liam Neeson's that don't feel like Taken-esk of I'm coming for you, and I would say that In the Land of Saints and Sinners is one of them which is great as if feels like a different kind of movie and fresh, and I gotta say that he does a great Irish accent.
I would actually highly recommend this movie to anyone who is a Liam Neeson fan like me or someone who is trying to find something to watch as this movie will keep you entertained.

"The story and context are great, but I would have liked everything to be better developed, I missed more dynamic relationships and a deeper understanding of the characters, who are all very good. The photography is stunning, the natural landscapes are breathtaking, the movie has a tense atmosphere and great performances."
"This is one of the best Liam Neeson movies ive seen in a while and unlike the every movie hes been in since 2009’s Taken, this is not just a seeming reiteration of “Taken”.
Great cinematography that has just the right, moody vibe that captures the feel of what i imagine Ireland to be like.
Lots of recognizable faces - seems like every Irish actor we know of is in this."
