"3.5⭐️ This was on TV all the time when I was a kid and I don’t believe I registered all of Marilyn’s naked dresses or the overt overall sexiness of this film which now seems so risqué for the time. Unmissable even to my child’s eye, however, was the depth of sad vulnerability MM brought to her role and the larger than life charisma which seemed to leap out of the small screen filling the space of our living room. When I think of Marilyn it’s this character my imagination conjures. The gender bending plot was fun, odd and outrageous which was clearly the intent and again kind of ahead of its time. Considering it was made in the 50s, aside from a cringy moment or two it was even handled..well..respectfully. The movie’s not really as good as my kid brain stored in the files but is still a must watch classic. Not only for Marilyn but also the sweetly hilarious performances by Tony Curtis (with his over the top Cary Grant impersonation) and Jack Lemmon (endearingly embracing the femme in his sexual spectrum). They’re all a study in what it was to be the top of the top Hollywood icons! "
"One of the best comedies I’ve ever seen. Extraordinarily well written and well acted by all 3 leads (Jack Lemmon in particular was hilarious). Highly recommended!"
