Heartbreaking story of a Vietnam war veteran turned anti-war activist, with a powerful commentary on the military-industrial complex and the treatment of veterans. Tom Cruise gave the performance of his life (should’ve won the Oscar). Incredible cinematography and direction (well deserved Oscar for Oliver Stone), as well as score (especially the theme music)."
