"A very sad story, incredibly well done in my opinion. But it’s true, our views of ourselves easily can become affected/distorted and very hard to change the perspective we see of our outward appearance whether it’s based on outside influences (social media, society, ideals, etc.) or from life circumstances. I appreciate this movie bringing to light some of the situations and conversations—the good and the bad—that do come along with eating disorders. It can be hard on everyone. I loved the scene where Ellen’s mom wants to try a strange method of holding her daughter Ellen like a baby again and feeding her rice milk from a bottle. For some reason, that scene struck deep to my core especially when her mom tells her with sadness and tears that she’ll accept her death because she doesn’t want to fight with her daughter anymore. I kind of wished they could have done a “forward a few years” to show her eventually overcoming anorexia or show whatever outcome of Ellen’s life."
"I thought this movie was so beautiful and did an amazing the depiction on eating disorders and the struggles that come with it. This movie really helped me understand ED’s a little better and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get a better understanding on them too but definitely check the trigger warnings before watching, 5/5."
