"3.75⭐️ Yes something mysterious is occurring on swampy, murky, atmospheric Caddo Lake. This seems to primarily be a suspenseful family drama set in an economically depressed town with a dying lake. Even with the strange lake happenings and a girl disappearing at the center of it, for a good part I didn’t find my spine tingling or even much original to the plot. But luckily I hung there. Because…
I. was. wrong.
This film is a lot more than it seems. It just takes a long, confusing, murky time to get there. But it DOES have enough twists and turns and double takes to make your brain go sideways. It gave mine a lot to wrap itself around. You might need to take notes. It all made wading through the family drama worth it. In fact pay more attention to that than I did. Ultimately it’s a film about family and loss and how we can get knotted up in disconnection and misunderstanding. And what if…
Aaand that’s all I got. Because this one you just gotta go in and see for yourself.
It would be helpful to mention that for some reason this film is classified as horror. It is not. It IS a thiller-esque mystery .. but if I say what major genre it really falls under that would probably be a spoiler in itself. I happened to go in blind which I highly recommend. So be careful reading reviews should you decide to move forward. At some point someone is bound to casually drop the *BIG THING* as if they’ve never heard the word spoiler. Trust me .. you don’t want to know more than any of this! "
"It took a while before I understood what was going on with this movie, and I guess that is part of its charm. Some might get discouraged, as I did, but hang in there. Once things start to make sense, the pace picks up and the mind blowing realizations make you say "Wow". 🤯 I was pleasantly surprised with this movie because even after watching the trailer, you don't really know what the movie is about. Well done. 8/10"
"Day 17 of #Spooktober and I watched this new film on HBO Max. I went in completely blind and i highly suggest you do the same. One of my favorite actresses by the name of Eliza Scanlen and integral piece to this crazy story. You might remember her from the HBO series Sharp Objects. I don’t know what it is about her but she’s just perfect for these small town roles. Anyway it’s so much I want to say but then in doing so I would ruin a general reaction to the film. This story confused me so much I literally stopped it halfway through the film to watch it from the beginning because I felt like I missed something. Which isnt a common theme for me. But I thought I was watching your average run of the mill murder mystery but was I wrong. There’s a certain director that helped produce this film but I rather not even disclose that information. All I can say is pay full attention if you plan on viewing."

"This is definitely a m night film and a good one at that. You cannot predict when you are watching how the puzzle pieces fit and you how for an ending that you think might exist. The scenery in the movie stunning the shots and the acting stellar. Highly recommend to watch this one especially if you are a fan of interstellar "
"I'll be honest at first I wanted to quit this movie . It dragged for a bit. That being said, it quickly picked up speed and I became unable to stop watching. What I got was a healing , powerful, and sad story about a family. The movie was shot so seamlessly . I loved the mystery surrounding the lake . "
