Late Night with the Devil

"I was really excited in anticipation of seeing this one. The concept is highly original in a genre that is oversaturated with things that have been done over and over again. This felt new and inventive. I love the 70s aesthetic and it looks authentic in every way. But I was a little disappointed overall. 🫤 I felt that the setup, although it was thorough, was too long. By the time we get to the meat of it, things happen fast and the ending seems rushed. I feel like the runtime could have been a little longer so we could explore more of the possession of Lilly. I really think they missed the mark on making a movie that could have been truly great. High marks for originality but points off in the execution. 7/10"

"I had a really good time with this movie! I thought the 70s setting was done very well and the make up/special effects where done well when they where used, the cgi wasn’t the greatest but I didn’t take me fully out of the movie. How the story was told reminded me of a full length analog horror which is some of my personal favorite when it’s done well which I’d say this was, the build up to the chaos was done really well and I was still entertained during the slower parts because they where still giving us vital information to the story! I am disappointed in the AI art that was used, it could have easily been done by an artist and looked 10% better but I still don’t think we should boycott indie film, but I can still see why someone would…it’s a double edge sword. "

"I already know this will be an unpopular opinion, but I feel like everyone who loved this movie is not as familiar with the genre as they think they are. I was really excited about this one, unfortunately most of it dragged and just felt like filler. It took nearly the whole film to get to the “action,” which really wasn’t surprising enough to warrant all that waiting. I always love the 70s aesthetic, but I felt it was wasted on what was a really great but poorly executed premise. By ‘poorly executed’ I don’t mean it wasn’t well cast, well acted, or well directed. It was all of those things. Unfortunately this cool idea was simply not fully actualized."

"This movie was such a cool ******* concept and super cool watch in the genre of exorcism films I love the talk show theme loved the 1979s theme thought it was super cool but the ending just lost and ruin the magic for me it made it seem cheap and unthought out."
