When megalomaniacal White Goodman, the owner of a trendy, high-end fitness center, makes a move to take over the struggling local gym run by happy-go-lucky Pete La Fleur, there's only one way for La Fleur to fight back: dodgeball. Aided by a dodgeball guru and Goodman's attorney, La Fleur and his rag-tag team of underdogs launch a knock-down, drag-out battle in which the winner takes all.

"I've aged out of this movie's target audience, but that concession doesn't change the fact that I haven't laughed this little at a comedy in a long time. The movie isn't aggressively bad, but I'm frustrated because I feel like I wasted the runtime in watching it. The character "growth" in this "underdog story" is all external. The joke's are juvenile and largely tacked on. They're the types of comedy beats that we'd seen and heard a million times before this movie was released. The visual gags of the opposing dodgeball teams' gimmicks are glossed over so quickly that I feel like the trailers probably included 90 percent of them. The love story is silly, but not in a way that's actually funny. 2 red rubber balls out of five."
