"One of my many rewatches, but my first ever in a cinemas, having finally caught a Fathom special screening event of it in my local theatre. Further reinforces my personal “favorite movie of all time” rating. This screening had phenomenal restoration of footage on top of amazing sound (listening to that score was quite something in the cinemas). This is CINEMA in the truest sense of the word and the gold standard of filmmaking IMO (from the score to the cinematography to the performances etc.). It’s easy to see why many directors like James Cameron, Denis Villeneuve, Martin Scorsese, George Lucas, Steven Spielberg etc. were influenced by this film (movies like DUNE and STAR WARS owe a huge deal of debt to this film). This is a film that people of all ages (especially the younger generation) need to see IMO, especially since all of the movies the younger generation know and love today would not have been possible without this film."

"Peter O’Toole at his peak. If you like this, also check out “Becket” and “Lion In Winter”"

"I recently watched this at the recommendation of a coworker. It had been on my list for a while, I had just never gotten around to watching it. I’m so glad I did though. The colors are so beautiful. Peter O’Toole’s blue eyes, as the white of his robes set against the desert backdrop is just unbelievable. Also, the character development that takes place is one of my favorite things about the film. O’Toole does an absolute killer job in this film. It’s it a film I’d sit down and watch again any time soon due to its length, but I’m so glad I watched it."
