"3.5 stars for music and dancing. The story was definitely a male perspective film, however it doesn’t make it untrue. The girls in the film for the most part were nothing more than sexual objects."

"Saw this at the time it came out. I was a young teenager! Love this movie. Beware of some triggers. But the dancing is awesome!! And John Travolta is wonderful! If you’ve never watched this, you must. Enjoy. "

"Saturday Night Fever is a 1977 American film that explores the themes of identity, ambition, and alienation in the disco era. The film stars John Travolta as Tony Manero, a young man who lives for dancing at a local nightclub, where he is admired for his skills and charisma. However, his life outside the club is full of frustration and dissatisfaction, as he struggles with his family, his job, his friends, and his love interest.
The film is a powerful and realistic portrayal of the challenges and aspirations of a young generation in a changing society. The film shows the contrast between the glamorous and exciting world of disco and the harsh and bleak reality of urban life. The film also examines the issues of racism, sexism, violence, and drug abuse that plagued the era.
The film also depicts the joy and freedom that dancing brings to Tony and his partner, Stephanie, played by Karen Gorney, who share a dream of escaping their neighborhood and finding a better life. It is a masterpiece of cinematography, editing, and music, creating a vivid and immersive experience for the viewers.
Saturday Night Fever is a film that transcends its genre and era and remains a relevant and timeless classic. The film is a compelling and emotional story of a young man’s search for meaning and purpose in a chaotic and uncertain world. It is a celebration of the power and beauty of music and dance and the human spirit. The film is a must-see for anyone who loves cinema, culture, and history."
"I’m so old that I saw the PG version of this on it’s SECOND round of the theaters because my mother wouldn’t allow me to see the R rated version!😆. I owned the sound track on 8-track before seeing the movie! 😂❤️💃🕺I’ll ALWAYS love this movie ❤️❤️ in part because it fit the times so well when it was new….(of course, I do still live disco & The Bee Gees)"
