"i watched this movie when it first came out and at that time i wasn't very interested in it. part way through the movie i remember my mind checking out and i barely paid attention to the end. throughout the years i heard SO many ppl saying how much they liked it and i should give it another try (after i tell them i didnt really pay attention towards rhe end)... but not only that, recommendation lists i see online always listing it. so i decided tonight i should give it a second chance. and oh boy, i'm glad i did!!! absolutely amazing movie! and i didn't get bored once throughout it. my guess is i just wasnt in the mood for a slow burn when it first came out."

"Eerily, sinister and incredibly foreboding. In short, a tale of a lonely girl who just wants somewhere to belong. While it moves slow at parts, it can’t draw the viewer in to great depths of darkness with its subtleties. Exceptional acting all around with this cast. A gem of a film. "

"Creepy with an ominous sense of dread. The performances by all three actresses are excellent but the direction here is the real star. Osgood Perkins directs each scene with a level of sophistication that is rarely seen in this genre. It’s unreal that he made something this good on first attempt. I’ll definitely be watching all his films. One caveat. This film will polarize its audience, especially with its ending so if you like your scares and plot spoon fed to you this likely isn’t your cup of tea. If you’re a fan of high brow horror, especially the top A24 films such as Hereditary, VVitch, Midsommer, and The Lighthouse this needs to be on your must watch list. Highly recommended. "
