"I would like to officially say anyone with Epilepsy should NOT watch this show. Flashing lights galore. It hurt my eyes to watch moments due to the flashing & scene changes.
I saw a short of this show & immediately wanted to watch it. I will admit the short gave a completely different vibe & plot to this one, but the comment that told me the name of the show also revealed it was an X-Men adaptation. Which I was interested in.
However, it is trying way too hard to be dark, mysterious, crazy, & everything in between.
I know the main character here, & yes he does have that mindset, but this feels like a wannabe thriller with a touch of superpowers. The suspension of disbelief (not realizing you're watching a show) goes away without warning & can be jarring. Countless times when I watched the 1st episode, I wanted to change it & try something else. But I was determined & also eating, so I didn't want to find something else. I've stuck through now to season 2 & I can honestly say it gets somewhat better. I'm not sure if I want to finish it. (It might not be so bad if you're not watching with commercials)
There's also a crud ton of empty moments. They'll show a person sitting down for 30 seconds straight. Doing nothing. I'm not even joking. You'll want to skip 10 seconds constantly.
If you're waiting for me to say something positive it's because I haven't actually found that yet. Even the moment with action & powers looked so fake on screen. The bullets firing was so unreal the suspension of disbelief, completely gone.
The reason I said it's getting better though is it stops trying so hard to be insightful& clever as the show progresses since it actually has to tell us a story. The story is intriguing too. I'll give it that, but I also feel like I'm wading through mud just to find something substantial.
I get they're trying to showcase what its like in his crazy mind, but there's a fine line between jarring & insightful. And they took a 50 mile detour to jarring central."
"I enjoyed the first season throughly. However, I lost interest after that. But I plan to finish and I wholeheartedly recommend this show."

"I wasn’t into comics as a kid so I had no idea what this was about. It’s the perfect balance of weird and exciting."
