Diana Gabaldon
From the author of the breathtaking bestsellers Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber, the extraordinary saga continues. Their passionate encounter happened long ago by whatever measurement Claire Randall took. Two decades before, she had traveled back in time and into the arms of a gallant eighteenth-century Scot named Jamie Fraser. Then she returned to her own century to bear his child, believing him dead in the tragic battle of Culloden. Yet his memory has never lessened its hold on her and her body still cries out for him in her dreams. Then Claire discovers that Jamie survived. Torn between returning to him and staying with their daughter in her own era, Claire must choose her destiny. And as time and space come full circle, she must find the courage to face the passion and pain awaiting her, the deadly intrigues raging in a divided Scotland and the daring voyage into the dark unknown that can reunite—or forever doom—her timeless love.

"These books may take quite a while to read, but I haven't been too disappointed yet. There are some things that bug me, but over all, I still want to find out what happens. Thanks to the cliffhanger endings, I'm buying the next one just as soon as I finish a book.<br/><br/>I love Jamie. I do. Claire can be a bit too much at times but I still love how much they love each other, heart and soul. They are willing to risk everything, including death, for one another. There are times I wish I could just see them happily settled in Scotland with a few bairns of their own leading a quiet life, but I suppose that wouldn't be much of a story. That's what I want from them and one of the reasons I keep reading, hoping they manage to find that someday.<br/><br/>"

"I am proud to admit that Diana Gabaldon's books have become my new beach reads. I've always liked reading the biggest novels I could get my hands on for long trips (which incidentally is how I ended up reading GOT) and the Outlander novels are the perfect fit for the bill. I also rather shamelessly admit that I am now reading these books about once a year to keep ahead of the TV series, which I highly highly HIGHLY recommend. It is a phenomenal show, and not just because Sam Heugan is the finest specimen of human being I have ever laid eyes on. Preambles aside, this installment was the best one yet. And I LOVED the other two, so that's saying a lot. I cannot wait to keep reading, these are seriously some of the best novels I have ever read and I can't wait to see what the next one holds...especially because it coincides with one of my favorite historical happenings. Without giving too much away, the next one may be my fav, and I haven't even read it yet. Such is my faith in Diana Gabaldon's writing, I suppose. She writes a damn good story"
