Nick and Charlie (A Heartstopper novella)
Books | Young Adult Fiction / Coming of Age
A SUNDAY TIMES TOP 5 CHILDREN’S BESTSELLER A short novella based on the beloved characters from Alice Oseman’s acclaimed debut novel Solitaire and graphic novel series Heartstopper – now a major Netflix series. From the author of the 2021 YA Book Prize winning Loveless. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right? CHARLIE: “I have been going out with Nick Nelson for two years. He likes rugby, Formula 1, dogs, the Marvel universe, the sound felt-tips make on paper, rain and drawing on shoes. He also likes me.” NICK: “Things me and Charlie Spring do together include: Watch films. Sit in the same room on different laptops. Text each other from different rooms. Make out. Make food. Make drinks. Get drunk. Talk. Argue. Laugh. Maybe we're kind of boring. But that’s fine with us.” Everyone knows that Nick and Charlie are the perfect couple – that they’re inseparable. But now Nick is leaving for university, and Charlie will be left behind at Sixth Form. Everyone’s asking if they’re staying together, which is a stupid question – they’re ‘Nick and Charlie’ for God’s sake! But as the time to say goodbye gets inevitably closer, both Nick and Charlie question whether their love is strong enough to survive being apart. Or are they delaying the inevitable? Because everyone knows that first loves rarely last forever...

"I listened to the audiobook while reading it online on my phone. I’m this desperate to read any books even when I can’t get them or don’t have them. But to be honest I’d rather read a real book instead of online. I love to highlight or mark things in a book that’s personally mine. I loved Nick & Charlie. Some things made me cry, almost. Especially with the fight they had, I listened to all the TikTok audios related to this book and the voice actor who read the book did an amazing job with the accent and everything. It was perfect. That one page in the book though where Oseman describes a very goood time between them lol. I had to stop to digest everything. I would read it again if I had the Real life book."
"Amazing cried so much "
"Rating: 4.5/5⭐️ This book is extremely short... maybe an hour read. I still loved it. It gave some insight to Charlie's thought process from a first person point of view as Nick is making plans for university. I love that this novella gives us a taste of what Nick and Charlie's relationship would be like after the "honeymoon phase" I'd recommend reading this book after you've read Heartstopper completely, then This Winter, then Solitaire, and then this book. Then go pick up radio silence after. "
