When the doors of the lift crank open, the only thing Thomas remembers is his first name. But he's not alone. He's surrounded by boys who welcome him to the Glade - a walled encampment at the centre of a bizarre and terrible stone maze. Like Thomas, the Gladers don't know why or how they came to be there - or what's happened to the world outside. All they know is that every morning when the walls slide back, they will risk everything - even the Grievers, half-machine, half-animal horror that patrol its corridors, to try and find out.

"I really enjoyed the adventure of this book, into another world"

"I'm going to tell you the whole book without any spoilers. Seems impossible it's not. Why am I here? You'll find out later Thomas. What's that? We will tell you later? How's this? You'll find out in time. I read this whole book only because I payed good money for it. If you think you can muscle through it and learn anything new you are wrong. They just want you to buy the next book. The Author gives you nothing to go on with nothing to intrigue or keep you on the edge of your seat. It was flat out painfully boring. I thought if I pushed through and got to the end then the wait would be worth it.....not even close they answered next to none of the questions they filled in your head throughout the book. Very very disappointed."
