"I liked this book! At first I wasn’t sold. The beginning seemed to drag on. It was nice for getting to know the characters but it felt like a lot of build up. The second half brought the story together and was very sweet and also emotional. I didn’t have any idea what the story was about before reading and enjoyed how it all came together in the end. There were some sad themes and some of those events felt a little passed over or abrupt. Overall it’s got some interesting twists and your really feel like you get to know the characters. No spice."

"a decent read! the author writes engagingly and realistically. she references modern things, but it doesn’t feel forced into the text in order to relate to the reader. the relationships feel very real and, though they are imperfect, you can relate to each character. I will say the plot twist is pretty obvious, but just because it’s predictable doesn’t mean it’s not worth the read. It can be slow at times, but, if you can get invested in the characters, the end picks up. my main qualm with it all is the lack of diversity. the characters and relationships feel very whitewashed, which made it hard to relate to it at times. Overall, 3.5/5."
