War Lord - Likewise Book Reviews
"The final book (13th) in the Saxon Series (Last Kingdom). I loved this series, been reading them since they came out in 2004. Feels like the end of an era. This last book though was one of my favorites. How the battles of war and succession culminate historically was entertaining and fascinating. If you liked the Netflix show and want to binge a book series, this is a good one. Can be repetitive and predictable at times (hard to avoid with 13 books) but definitely worth it. "
"I'm shattered this is the last book, what a ride with Uhtred, son of Uhtred. Growing up with these books, I've always taken "Fate is Inexorable" to heart and weirdly enough has become an internal dialogue of mine in particularly difficult situations. To wrap up this series is very bittersweet to me, but culminating with a final battle on the unification of England....what a rush.

I won't give too much away, but those invested in the series, it's worth it to the end, and hopefully you'll be satisfied on how many of the characters you may have grown up with as well, end up. As always, it's absolutely worth reading the Historical notes in the end, to show how he has weaved Uhtred's story is nothing short of miraculous."
