"I recognize that this is a children's or young adult book, but some books that are shelved in those categories can be enjoyed by readers of any age. Unfortunately, this book is not one that adults can enjoy. The writing is very basic, both in sentence structure, and as regards the characters and the plot. All of the main characters are incredibly thinly drawn, with little in the way of personalities, and the story is somewhat painful to read. Very disappointing."
