"A novelization of the original Resident Evil 2. Full disclosure: I never played the original as a kid, and as I was listening, I was about halfway done with the RE2 remake, so I didn't have too much of a point of reference aside from some familiarity with the broad strokes of the Resident Evil universe. However, as is the case with most novelizations, it adds plenty of extra context to the story by exploring characters' thoughts, goals, fears, etc. Ultimately, I enjoyed it, and as I continue to increase my knowledge of this franchise, I will probably continue to read or listen to the other novels in this series."
