Alyca When I was 3, i was admitted to the hospital for a virus/dehydration. When I asked my dad what was taking so long, he told me there weren't enough doctors. I then swore I would become one. Didn't get into medicine but got a bachelor's in pharmacology!

Debbie McClelland My parents. My Mom had a bookshelf filled with some science-based books at home (Archaeology, Geology, etc...), plus my Dad took out to look for arrowheads in plowed farmers' fields. So, the natural world was very interesting to us.

KB I got a lot of ear infections as a kid and, as a consequence, spent a considerable amount of the time at the doctor. The doctor had all these anatomical models in her office, and I used to be fascinated by what all the parts and organs did and how they worked together. It got to the point where I would fake earaches so I could go to the doctor and ask her more questions. At some point, my parents decided it would be more economical to get me some biology books. And today I’m a neuroscientist.

Piston Oh, basic chemistry got me. I was intrigued at the fact that a mixture of substances can do so much. It was dope.
