Topic: Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story
It is interesting to me that this film is released around the same time that DC is rebooting its universe. https://deadline.com/video/super-man-the-christopher-reeve-story-sundance-documentary-matthew-reeve-alexandra-reeve-will-reeve-interview/ #documentary #christopherreeve #christopher_reeve #superman

Brandon Reed The reboot may have given them the idea, but they also note that it's been 20 years since Reeves' death. The anniversary may have been all it was.

Brandon Reed We've come a long way since Christopher Reeves was injured, but quadriplegia/tetraplegia remains a devastating effect of injury. A lot of research needs to be done on how to further improve quality of life for people affected by it and, in a perfect world, to treat and cure it (though that's an enormous hurdle). And a lot needs to be done to make the best equipment and resources (lifts, catheters, etc.) available to those who need it. For instance, the catheters that most insurance providers are willing to provide to patients without good third-party advocacy haven't really advanced in decades (though, thankfully, the number of catheters they'll provide has), though huge strides have been made in catheter technology. It's an ever-widening gap.

Risse Richards I had the pleasure of meeting Dana and Christopher about a year before he passed and they were incredible and so grateful that so many people cared about their cause. He was so funny and optimistic, it brought me to tears.

Errika Mason The timing IS interesting, and it really is a great idea to share Reeves story. Christopher touched so many lives with his humanity and his acting. I am happy this documentary is releasing.
