Is it just me or is this app becoming kinda circuitous? If feels like all the asks want vaguely the same sort of romance or all the recommendations echo each other. I don’t mind, it’s just not my niche and I can’t seem to find any other. Does anyone else feel like romance is kinda dominating the conversation?

Hailey That and romantasy are definitely dominanting the asks. But, if it's what people want, that's what they want 🤷‍♀️

lizard I guess, it’s just kinda discouraging using this app when those are not your genres. A lot of my asks just don’t seem to get a lot of interaction, most of the action on this site revolves around the romance tropes.

Hailey Same. I have also noticed my asks not getting alot of attention, especially now, they get views but no reccomendations. Maybe there's not as many people on the app as there were, maybe it's the algorithm, not sure. Weird.

mochabunny202 I never ask for romance and tend to get at least three recommendations (not the ai ones). I do see where you’re coming from though, I can’t really recommend romance books

Disgruntled Alchemist Definitely. Same asks. Same recs.

Dorian yeah, things have also started to feel very YA leaning when that wasn’t really the case 6mo-a year ago.. romantasy and YA are fine, but it seems like almost everything else has kinda disappeared

Ebru I personally don’t mind the romance, cause it’s something I personally read, though it’s less newer releases, less known stuff, and now more the popular stuff (at least compared to when I’ve actively was paying more attention). Fine enough, but yeah. I’ve kinda ended up moving some of my asks to Reddit, mostly because it’s easier into the nitty gritty of a particular subgenre and others who’re in similar reading boats.

Mandy I’ve noticed a big difference in the last few months/ year. Especially where the asks are leaning towards popular YA books getting recommended over and over. I’ve also noticed a lot of the people I followed pretty religiously stopped using the app when Pix was introduced. It sucks. I was just thinking about dropping it for a while to see if it picks up in a year or so. Reddit is much better for recs though it is more *toxic* at times.

Max Edge Yeah I wish it was easier to filter asks by keywords.
