Topic: Butcher and Blackbird
Sorry if I’m asking too much but wondering about how dark is “Butcher and Blackbird” because the trigger warnings say cannibalism…but everyone says it’s accidental cannibalism??? On a scale of The Donner Party to Ed Gien how bad is it?

Hailey It is accidental but it's in an oblivious, comedic way. Like the clueless dinner guests in Hannibal. If it's seeing the process of the killing, butchering and cooking you're concerned with, there is none of that.

Brandy Orrell I actually laughed through that exact scene. It was absolutely an accidental thing in the first. There’s a second scene that isn’t “accidental” and is gross but isn’t like watching the silence of the lambs.

Mandy I love the book. There are gross moments (I don’t want to talk about the ice cream 🤢) but mostly it’s more funny than anything. Though they touch on a lot of serious subjects. Also the spice is very… um, rough… Not everyone’s cup of tea.

Fer there’s actual accidental cannibalism and it’s pretty funny but then in another scene a guy cuts a square of skin, rips it out and slurps it..
