Topic: Books

Are Oramu Dazai, Haruki Murakami, Donna Tartt, Dolly Alderton, Kathleen Glascow, Elissa Sussman and Otessa Moshfegh (my years of rest and relaxation) good and if so could you give me books they are like or anything?

Max Edge I've only read The Secret History by Donna Tartt and loved it, I imagine The Goldfinch would have a similar writing style and vibe. Really hard to think of a book similar to The Secret History because it really is one of a kind. On reddit, someone said that A Separate Peace by John Knowles and Stoner by John Williams would be similar, and those are both on my TBR.

lizard Murakami and Dazai are very introspective but also include quite a bit of misogyny in their books. Not saying it to put you off, but it is pretty apparent in their works. Moshfegh is a very amusing modern writer, but some readers are offput by her frequently gross and obscene inclusions. Eric LaRocca, Jenny Hval, and especially Sayaka Murata are similar authors.
