I own over 300 books (physical, digital, and audio), and I still feel like I have nothing to read.

Road Master Ugh. I know the feeling. All my books sound good. They just don't sound good RIGHT NOW.

Road Master Unfortunately, I get these moods that are extremely vague. I want a fantasy... maybe something fun... lots of swordplay and stuff... but, ya know, not TOO violent, just KINDA violent, but still fun, but I can still take it fairly seriously...

AutisticJester Makes since. There are times that I can't quite pinpoint what I want. I'll get a feeling that I want to emulate, but I'm not sure what kind of book will simulate the feeling. Hope that made it since. The last book to really sing to my spirit was The Name of the Wind. The book feeled all the empty spaces in my heart, ones I didn't even know I had.

AutisticJester I dabbled in writing myself and got the desired emotional response I was looking for.

Tanira Edge Try Winters Fury by AE Rayne. I started it 2 days ago and I won’t stop until I’ve finished her entire catalog.

Eric I have 1330 titles on audible and around 150 currently on kindle and 4 big bookshelves in my house full after throwing out a ton, and still feel like I have nothing to read. The biggest problem is trying find what your in the mood for at the right time.

AutisticJester My jaw just dropped. Did you just say 1330? Holy Hell!! And 4 big bookshelves.

Eric Honestly, Ascendant is good, but it definitely could be better. I was hoping for something similar to eragon or fourth wing.

Glowbunny Yeah, like Eric, I have 3 large custom bookshelves plus a couple of half (like hip high) bookshelves all over filled, 620 audiobooks, plus I extensively utilize 2 public library systems (both physical and audio books) and I still hear myself bemoaning my lack of reading materials. The struggle is real.

Glowbunny That doesn't include the random books around my house - I used to have books in my bed (you know - so when you wake up in the morning on your day off you don't have to get out of bed to find a book) but my partner didn't appreciate that and said the books had to find a new place to live at night. Something about not having enough room to sleep and books falling off the pillows by the headboard onto their head in the middle of the night and waking them up - some sort of weird nonsense like that. I think I have a few books in nearly every room in the house.

AutisticJester Wow, you got a real book obsession. I thought the several books on my night stand for easy access were bad. And I guess having more books doesn't exactly solve the "not having anything to read" feeling.

Giavanna Rusynyk I KNOW RIGHT?!?!? Then I’ll go to a bookstore and spend the next four hours wondering whether to buy an entire series or multiple different books. THEN I’ll look at the price and say screw it. Frfr

AutisticJester You're better than me when it comes to books, I have no regulations on spending.
