Ryan I like the choice of director. He’s shown he has dramatic chops and the action in All Quiet on the Western Front had a really tactile feel. His new film, Conclave, is also expected to be an awards favorite this year. I was afraid they would go with a pure action director, who wouldn’t get the tone.

Road Master I don't really keep up on directors. But a super action focused director definitely wouldn't work.

Thom Willson I've no doubt Damon was allowed a heavy hand in picking director as part of his agreement to return. Unlike other actors like Travolta or Morgan Freeman, Damon thankfully hasn't resorted to simply taking a paycheck, so I'd be willing to bet the script is also on-point!
