While it did originally make me feel very uncomfortable, I get that was the point. Ari Aster made this film as an eye-opener to how disgusting abuse truly is, and how it can happen behind closed doors in even the most innocently appearing families. This film had me shaking and crying, and while I don’t think I’ll be rewatching it anytime soon because if that, Aster deserves an award for this one. The message is conveyed, and it’s conveyed strongly. "
