"This was a very solid short film from modern day horror extraordinaire Ari Aster. While the premise of the film was "gross", I really enjoyed the slow tension building throughout the film. The acting was also very solid. There is a loose narrative in this movie but it can be overlooked since this is an entry early in his career. Also, you can see his style slowly start to develop after the film. "

While it did originally make me feel very uncomfortable, I get that was the point. Ari Aster made this film as an eye-opener to how disgusting abuse truly is, and how it can happen behind closed doors in even the most innocently appearing families. This film had me shaking and crying, and while I don’t think I’ll be rewatching it anytime soon because if that, Aster deserves an award for this one. The message is conveyed, and it’s conveyed strongly. "
