9/10 HEY! Cat in shoes pt. 2 had NO RIGHT BEING THIS GOOD? I’m crying? I’m crying! It was fun, creative, visually stunning beyond belief (I’m talking spider-verse level animation), it was heartwarming, terrifying… it was incredible. I heard that people were liking this movie but I never expected it to be this good. All of the subplots were so fun and interesting. The characters were all great, old and new. I’m in love with this movie. I know it probably won’t win any awards but it honestly should. This is some of the best dreamworks content I’ve seen in a long time. If this is their potential, I want to see more of this kind of stuff. I’m addicted to the visual style of this movie. It’s so textured and unique. It works great for the puss in boots style action. Excellent action as well, wow. Just wow. I’m blown away. Go watch this movie!

8/10 This was such a fun, creative film. I loved the soundtrack and the creative twists they put on classic fairy tales. This is a staple of my childhood. Very visually pleasing and great for kids and adults as well!

9/10 Aside from the -aggressive- use of lense flares throughout, this is one of the best sci-fi films I have ever seen. If I wasn’t a Trekkie before, I sure as hell am one now! First off, the opening sequence of this movie is so stunningly powerful. Even with not much attachment to any of the characters, I was still tearing up. And the movie just kept getting better from there. The design of the characters, sets, and ships are so unique. And the CGI is amazing, especially for 2009. The colors really popped in this film. Every species and their cultures are very distinguishable and amazingly detailed. Even down to the cinematography used in different cultures. The Vulcan scenes have lots of Dutch angles and unique above shots, which make everything seem almost fantastical. Contrastingly, the scenes of earth feel human in a palpable way which I can’t entirely describe. J.J. Abrams knocked it out of the park with this one. The characters, though different from other portrayals, feel distinctly themselves. They are well developed throughout the two hours and I fell in love with all of them. They have such great chemistry, especially between Bones and Kirk, which I absolutely loved. I will be watching this one again :)

I’ve watched the first 5 episodes that have released and I am loving this! A lot of it has the same energy as wandavision with a futuristic, 1950s, space age, utopia with dark, sinister undertones. I’ve heard it described as Mad Men mixed with The Jetsons and I have to say that I agree. The first episode had me completely hooked. I am loving these characters but Billy Crudup is definitely stealing the show. The design of this show is eye candy. I honestly have no idea where this is going to end or what the protagonist’s endgame plan is. I have so many questions and I hope we get reveals that are worth the while.

5/10 how can something look so dusty but be so wacky? This movie had one of the blandest color palettes I’ve ever seen. I tend to gravitate towards more vibrant colors in movies but this choice was very interesting. It was a lot more violent and outlandish, the plot made nearly no sense, and it heavily relied on a MacGuffin but it was alright. Definitely not my favorite heist movie by a long shot, but I laughed a few times and I was impressed by some of the crazy editing. I’m definitely not the target demographic for this movie.

8.5/10 SPOILER REVIEW: One of the best marvel movies since Endgame. It was weird and all over the place, and I adored that. Ten minutes into the film I was thinking “this is already a better multiverse movie than MoM and it’s not even in the multiverse”. I really enjoyed the effects of this one, they really showed off with their effects team talent. However I think the characters were seriously lacking in this one, which made me sad because Ant Man and the Wasp has such a great cast of characters and their stories kind of took a back seat here. I know the main purpose of this film is to set up phase 5 but I was still disappointed. One of the best parts of marvel is its character work and I didn’t see much development for any characters besides Kang and Cassie. I was the most disappointed with what they have Wasp. She’s in the title of the movie, she should have had such a bigger role in this movie. Scott and Hope have such a fun dynamic and I was really excited to see that unfold more on screen, but alas. Ant Man didn’t get much character development and Wasp didn’t get any at all. Janet got some but honesty I didn’t really care about Janet so it didn’t work for me. I was also disappointed with how they handled Modok. I waited so long for this icon from the comics to show up, and now they’ve killed him off immediately. I know he has a funky design but he should have stayed around for longer. Also, don’t give him a redemption arc. That’s silly. Don’t be silly. My favorite scene overall was the trippy scene with Ant Man as he was trying to get the core. Jonathan Majors was the highlight actor of this movie. I’m so wildly pumped to watch him spearhead phase 5. He is so talented and one of the best monologue actors Ive seen in modern film. He deserves the world (and the multiverse). We also saw some of the most unique character designs in this film, even cooler than GoG at some points. I’m very excited to see how Kang, the quantumverse, the multiverse, and everything unfolds. Good movie, go watch it in theatres!

8/10 This is a classic and the only reason I’d never seen it was because I am terrified of sharks and the ocean. However, I was persuaded by my boyfriend to watch it anyway in attempts to get over that fear. Did it work? Absolutely not, but it was still really good! The pacing is kind of weird but the characters, score, practical effects, and cinematography are all excellent and it had some revolutionary concepts at the time of its release. For example, there is one shot where Martin is flipping through the pages of a book about shark, looking quite concerned, and the reflection of the pages is in his glasses but you can still see his expression. So randomly impressive and cool. Lots of love, innovation, and hard work put into this film. Also, the last 15 minutes were so intense, holey moley.

I’m so excited for this film! Such a fresh take on some old tropes, all combined together. Adam Driver is fantastic as well, such an intense actor.
